Over in Chiang Mai, you will find a plethora of things to do during the winter months. One of the first things you should do is drive to the top of Doi Inthanon. The drive will take two hours, but once you are up there, you will see magnificent views of the surrounding area and gorgeous fragrant flowers. Either on your way to the top or on your way back down, you must take the time to stop and see the Wachirathan Waterfalls. This is also the best time to see the cherry blossoms of the Sakura trees in bloom over at the Doi Inthanon National Park.

Winter in Chiang Rai is just as amazing, with the flowers blooming and spectacular views. You should check out Wat Rong Suea Ten first, before taking time to learn all about all things tea-related at the Choui Fong Tea Plantation. If you have the time, a three-hour drive to Doi Hua Mae Kham Forest Park is a must! It is there that you can see waterfalls and sunflowers, although the flowers are at their best during the month of November.

There are plenty of outdoor activities waiting for you in Mae Hong Son, but it will be the cultural delights awaiting you that will really pique your interest in this part of Thailand. As you hike along the mountain trails, you will find yourself discovering caves, waterfalls, canyons, and a plethora of wildlife.
