The Chihuly Garden and Glass show at Seattle Center will not be missed by art enthusiasts. Sweet tooths can take a factory tour of artisanal chocolatier Theo Chocolates, which includes exquisite samples–book ahead of time, as it is popular!
On a good day, hike up the hill to Kerry Park for panoramic views of the city to work off some of your indulgences. A visit to the Museum of Flying, which houses everything from the original Wright Brothers glider to the “Red Barn” where the first Boeings were built, is a must for children and everyone interested in flight and aviation. While luxury seekers should consider the Four Seasons Seattle and value seekers should consider the Grand Hyatt Seattle, there are also excellent boutique hotel alternatives, all of which are strategically located and steps from (or even in) Pike Place Market.

The neon sign of the Inn at the Market belies the modest elegance found in the lobby and guestrooms. Sleep peacefully on luxurious Hypnos beds draped in unique Sferra linens, and take advantage of free WiFi and complimentary in-room coffee and tea.
The City Side Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with views of downtown Seattle, whereas the Water View Rooms have views of Elliott Bay. Regardless matter whatever accommodation you select, you can always enjoy the sunset and bay views from a comfortable lounge chair on the rooftop deck.

Hotel Andra
Hotel Andra offers trendy yet warm Scandinavian design about 5 blocks from Pike Place Market. We adore the warmly colored Living Room, which features hand-knotted wool rugs, sofas, reclaimed wood coffee tables, and a granite fireplace. You’ll get a bird’s eye view from above if you go upstairs to the Loft. The 400-square-foot Superia Rooms have sumptuous beds, Egyptian cotton linens, and comfy sitting space, as well as an 8-foot wood desk and ergonomic chair. The modern mint-green tiled bathrooms include Lacava sinks, FACE Stockholm bath products and spa bathrobes.
Don’t pass up a meal or, at the very least, room service at Lola, run by Tom Douglas, one of Seattle’s premier restaurateurs. Order anything with lamb, the spicy smoked oysters, and the made-to-order doughnuts with housemade jam and vanilla mascarpone for breakfast. Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle
Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle, which has recently been remodeled, is our favorite Kimpton hotel in Seattle right now. Enjoy the magnificent, high-ceiling lobby, which features a comfortable fireplace and a complimentary wine reception every night. Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, the waterfront, the 5th Avenue Theatre, and Symphony Hall are all within a few blocks of the hotel.zy
While the Monaco Queen Rooms are small (250 square feet), the luxurious pillowtop beds, Italian Frette linens, complimentary WiFi (after registering up for Kimpton InTouch), funny animal print bathrobes, and other Kimpton extras (pet goldfish to keep you company, for example) keep us happy. Additionally, as is customary, guests with pets are welcome, and there are no fees to go.

The Alexis Royal Sonesta Hotel
Our second favorite Kimpton hotel in Seattle is the Alexis, which is conveniently located at 1st and Madison, just a short walk from Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square, two blocks from the Seattle Art Museum, and three minutes from the light rail station that takes you to and from Seattle SEA-TAC Airport for just $2.50 one-way. Standard Alexis Queen Rooms are 300 square feet in size, whereas Alexis King Rooms are 350 square feet and Queen Deluxe Rooms are 500 square feet in size.
The design is understated, with neutral tones and charming details like elaborate headboards complementing the building’s historic landmark designation. Enjoy Italian Frette linens, the nightly complimentary wine reception, free WiFi after signing up for Kimpton InTouch, and a free stay if you bring your pet, as at all Kimpton hotels. With the addition, chocolates (always a favorite of ours!) are included in the nightly turndown. In addition to the exercise center, you can hire a private steam room. There are also two bicycles available for free rental–just ask at the front desk.
