For instance, I am looking at hotels for a weekend in NYC. Obviously, it’s pretty expensive to stay in Manhattan for a weekend, ok, anytime. The deal for today (October 4th) in NYC is for the Strand Hotel, a luxury hotel in Midtown; right by Times Square. I played with the dates to give a couple of weeks to plan (and enjoy the anticipation of a trip to NYC). I found that I could go the weekend of October 24th-26th for the low cost of $328 (Expedia was charging $364 for the same weekend). In addition to the lower rate when you check out you receive a further 15% off. So $279/night for all you math whizzes (almost a $100 savings from other major hotel sites!!!!!). I really couldn’t believe it.
