If you and your family are an active lot, then the Netherlands makes a great choice. Known for being one of the cycling capitals of the world, its bike-friendly cities and flat countryside make it the perfect destination to get around on two wheels. Cycling through the Netherlands will take you past the traditional windmills and tulips the country is famous for. But that’s not all; the Netherlands has many things to do with kids, including museums, zoos, and amusement parks.

Orlando, the USA for thrilling amusement parks and sandy beaches

Universal Studios

Orlando is the ultimate playground: Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, the Kennedy Space Center, and LEGO Land are all on your doorstep and offer non-stop fun for all the family. There are also loads of free activities to do with children, such as Lake Eola, splash pads, and outdoor cinemas. If your kids love making sandcastles and splashing about in the sea, Orlando’s beaches are some of the best in the world: be sure to check out New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach.

Whistler, Canada for kid-friendly snow sports

Spring break is a great opportunity to go skiing and snowboarding, and Whistler is one of the best places to do just that. There are many options for kids’ skiing lessons, from 1-day to 5-day adventure camps, and children under the age of six always ski and ride for free at Whistler Blackcomb, making it more affordable too. When they get bored of being on the slopes, there’s plenty of other fun activities for them to take part in, including zip-lining, ice skating, the weekly Whistler Fire and Ice Show, and The Core climbing gym.

Mexico for the best all-inclusive family resorts

Mexico might seem more of a US college students spring break destination but there are lots of places to enjoy this beautiful country with your family. Cancun especially has an abundance of all-inclusive resorts offering fantastic food, access to beautiful beaches and great activities for the kids. Good choices include Moon Palace, Seadust Cancun Family Resort and Club Med.

Egypt for a mix of history and beach

Giza Piramids

If your kids are a little bit older, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Egypt. It has some of the most famous historical sites in the world, such as the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, Abu Simbel Temple, and the Temples of Luxor and Karnak. Then head over to Hurghada for some beachside relaxation. The Red Sea is also a fantastic place to do some snorkeling and diving.

Spring break is a time to spend quality time together as a family, to relax and have fun. These destinations will give you those things in spades.
